How do I open an account?

You can apply for membership at College Credit Union online at anytime. Select your school affiliation from the application.

Who can join Collegiate Credit Union?

Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and donors of our partner colleges qualify for membership. Other individuals seeking membership with Collegiate Credit Union may opt to donate a minimum of $10 to the Desk Drawer Fund to become a donor member of the foundation. To open an account, you must be at least 18 years of age, have a social security number, and a valid state-issued ID.

Can I open an account with Collegiate if I do not qualify through my college?

If Collegiate isn’t available at your college, you can join via the Desk Drawer Fund. Simply donate a minimum of $10 to the Desk Drawer Fund when opening an account to become a donor member of the foundation.

Why should I open an account with Collegiate?

Collegiate has no monthly maintenance fees and has features made for students. The online and mobile banking experience makes it easy to manage your money. Collegiate also provides easy money tips and financial education.

What’s the difference between a credit union and a bank?

Credit unions tend to offer higher dividend rates on savings accounts and lower interest rates on loans, along with lower service fees. Credit unions look out for their members, whereas banks have the interest of their stockholders in mind. At your credit union, you are an equal owner with every other member.

Why do you need my social security number?

Your social security number is needed to verify your identity.

Why were there two deposits and a withdrawal to my linked account?

You will see two small deposits and a withdrawal made with your linked account within 2-5 business days of linking your account with Collegiate. This helps us verify ownership of the account before we allow deposits or transfers to be made.

Is my money safe and secure with Collegiate?

Collegiate Credit Union savings are federally insured to at least $250,000 by the NCUA and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government.

What is the NCUA?

The NCUA is a government agency that monitors, charters, and regulates all federal credit unions. Funds in share accounts are covered and federally insured by the NCUA. Share accounts include savings, checking, certificates, money markets, and IRAs.

How do I find my account number and routing number?

You can access your account number in your online banking or mobile banking account. From your dashboard, select the account preview to open the account details screen. Select the “eye” icon to make your full account number visible. If you have trouble locating your credit union account number, you can contact Collegiate at (844) 201-9519.

What is a digital savings folder?

You can personalize the way you save over time by creating a virtual folder within your savings account. Money can be added to any savings goal automatically as a set amount or as a percentage of each deposit. You can pause savings contributions or remove money from your virtual folder at anytime.

Are there monthly account maintenance fees?

No! Collegiate has no monthly maintenance fees.

What is Person to Person?

Person to Person is a free service that allows you to setup payments to other people from your online or mobile banking dashboard.

I only want a checking account, do I have to open a savings?

Yes, a Membership Share with a minimum balance of $5 is required to keep your account open.

Does Collegiate offer loans?

Not at this time. Loans are available through MSU Federal Credit Union, click here to learn more.

How do I enroll in online banking?

When opening an account with Collegiate, you will be prompted to enroll in online banking and be taken through the process step-by-step. If there are any questions regarding this process, please contact us.

Where can I find ATMs that won’t charge me a fee?

Collegiate ATMs are part of the CO-OP Network. There are nearly 30,000 free ATMs available to you throughout the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico on the CO-OP Network. Find a location that is near you on the CO-OP locator.

What do I do if my debit card is lost or stolen?

To report LOST or STOLEN cards call: (844) 201-9519 during business hours or call (800) 554-8969 anytime. A representative will assist you with blocking your card and preventing further charges from being applied to your account.

What is the limit on withdrawing money from the ATM?

There is an ATM daily withdrawal limit of $1,000 per account number set by the Credit Union. Each financial institution or network is able to set their ATM limit so this limit may vary when using different ATMs.

Please note that bill sizes may vary between ATMs due to availability at the time of withdrawal.

How do I get a debit card if I didn’t select to get one at application?

To order a debit card, please contact us and we will gladly assist with getting one issued to you.
